About
Blog by True God
I built Kithunu Mithura — Blog by True God — as a free gift for a friend who wanted an easy, offline way to read the Bible every day. It grew from there into a full app, kept free and non‑commercial by choice.
Why it was built
-
Purpose
For a friend, for study
The app started as a personal project for a friend's daily reading, and stayed focused on that goal — reading and studying Scripture, not on growth or revenue.
-
Texts used
Old, public‑domain editions
The Sinhala Old Version (1938) and the English King James Version (1611) are both old enough to be in the public domain.
-
No monetization
Free, with no ads or purchases
There's no advertising, no in‑app purchases, and no plan to introduce either. The app is free for educational and personal use.
-
What's next
More languages, more hymns
German and Finnish translations, plus a Sinhala Hymns book, are planned for future updates.
What the app includes
- Offline Bible reading
- Text-to-Speech
- Highlights & bookmarks
- Personal notebook
- Daily verse notification
- Home screen widget
- Offline search
- Night mode & themes
The developer
Kithunu Mithura is developed and maintained under the name Blog by True God — one developer, building for personal and community use rather than commercial gain. No personal data is collected from anyone who uses the app.
